About

The LRV Rail Hub is an integrated rail and logistics hub proposed for Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Designed to connect major agricultural production areas to national and international markets, the Hub leverages planned and existing rail corridors — including the Rumo Lucas do Rio Verde–Rondonópolis–Port of Santos corridor and connections toward Sinop–Miritituba — to provide direct, efficient access to Brazil’s Atlantic ports and to potential Pacific routes. Its core components include a multimodal rail terminal, grain and bulk handling facilities, value added agri-processing zones, bonded export warehouses, storage and transshipment yards, and service areas for rail and road logistics.

Sited in one of Brazil’s largest grain producing regions, the project aims to reduce logistics costs, shorten time to market, and increase export competitiveness for soy, corn, oilseeds, and complementary agriproducts. The Hub is planned to support a future Export Processing Zone (ZPE) and attract agroindustry, input suppliers, and processing investments that will add value locally and increase foreign exchange earnings. Operational benefits include higher asset utilization through rail aggregation, lower truck traffic on regional roads, and improved supply chain resilience via diversified export routes.

The initiative targets a public private partnership (PPP) model to mobilize private capital, technical expertise and project development studies (engineering, environmental, economic financial structuring). Early stage activities focus on feasibility studies, stakeholder engagement, rail and port integration planning, and regulatory alignment. Overall, LRV Rail Hub seeks to transform Lucas do Rio Verde into a strategic logistics gateway for Brazil’s agribusiness, enhancing export capacity while promoting regional industrialization and sustainable logistics practices.
