MATO GROSSO EXPORT PROCESSING ZONE
International Director at INVEST MT

About
The Cáceres Export Processing Zone (ZPE), in the State of Mato Grosso, Brazil, offers a strategic platform for companies seeking to establish export-oriented industrial operations in one of Brazil’s leading agricultural and commodity-producing regions. Mato Grosso is a national leader in soybeans, corn, cotton, cattle and corn ethanol production, with a strong export base and direct commercial links with major international markets, including China, Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Located in Cáceres, the ZPE comprises 247 hectares and 341 industrial lots, with an average lot size of approximately 5,000 m². Module I already includes the completed administrative and customs area and 62 industrial lots with full infrastructure. The site also includes warehousing, cargo-control systems, scales, OCR and biometric facilities. The customs-controlled area has been authorized by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service, strengthening the ZPE’s readiness to receive new industrial projects.
Companies established in the ZPE may benefit from a differentiated tax, customs, administrative and foreign-exchange regime, including suspension or exemption of taxes applicable to inputs, raw materials, packaging and capital goods used in export-oriented production. Additional municipal incentives include a reduced ISS rate, exemptions from property-transfer and property taxes under applicable conditions, and exemption from certain municipal fees. The ZPE regime also provides streamlined customs procedures and long-term legal certainty for qualifying operations.
Its location provides access to important Brazilian logistics corridors through BR-070, BR-174 and MT-343, with connections to the Rondonópolis rail terminal and to the ports of Santos, Paranaguá and Miritituba. The area also has potential access to the Paraguay River, creating opportunities for integration with regional and international transport corridors.
The opportunity is particularly suited to investors interested in industrial processing, value addition and export-oriented manufacturing, taking advantage of Mato Grosso’s large-scale production base, competitive business environment and special ZPE incentives. Projects are subject to approval by the National Council of Export Processing Zones (CZPE) and must comply with the applicable federal, state and municipal requirements
