About

Cancer-associated malnutrition remains one of the major unresolved challenges in the comprehensive management of oncology patients. It is estimated that between 30% and 80% of cancer patients experience some degree of malnutrition during the course of the disease, which negatively impacts treatment tolerance, quality of life, survival, and healthcare costs.

Aware of this reality, we are launching this open innovation challenge aimed at nutrition-sector providers, research centers, startups, universities, and clinical groups, with the goal of developing disruptive, practical, and measurable solutions to improve the prevention, early detection, and treatment of malnutrition in oncology patients.

We are seeking proposals that address, among others, the following areas:

  • New strategies for malnutrition screening and early diagnosis.

  • Personalized nutritional solutions based on cancer type, treatment, microbiota, or metabolic status.

  • Digital tools, biomarkers, or predictive models for nutritional monitoring.

  • New products, formulations, or intervention models that improve patient adherence, effectiveness, and experience.

  • Multidisciplinary approaches integrating nutrition, oncology, technology, and data science.

This challenge aims to foster collaboration between industry, science, and clinical practice, accelerating knowledge transfer and the development of real-world solutions that can be integrated into the healthcare system.

The best proposals will have the opportunity to:

  • Present to a panel of clinical and scientific experts.

  • Explore pilot projects, collaboration agreements, or clinical validation.

  • Gain visibility within the nutrition and health innovation ecosystem.

We invite all stakeholders in the sector to participate and actively contribute to transforming the nutritional management of oncology patients. Because improving nutrition also means improving prognosis, quality of life, and hope.
