Kairòs - Falanghina Campi Flegrei dop

Owner at Azienda agricola Cantavitae

Marano di napoli, Italy

About

Characteristics Kairós is born from the volcanic soil of the Phlegraean Fields, a fascinating region steeped in history and myth, whose winemaking roots date back to Greek times. The name Falanghina derives from the need to tie the vines to support poles known as "phalanges." Kairós is harmony, opportunity, and essence. The DOC designation produces delicate and highly distinctive wines with light aromas of white flowers and exotic fruit and a distinctly savory palate. This native white grape variety, located at 130 meters above sea level, benefits from its proximity to the sea, sea breezes, and sandy soil. It is ungrafted and pruned using the Guyot system. Phlegraean Fields vines are among the few remaining immune to the devastating attack of phylloxera, thought to be due to the volcanic soil. “…a life-giving area with a consistently mild and healthy climate, fertile fields, sunny hills and breezy mountains, such an abundance of wines and olive trees…” This is how Pliny identified the Phlegraean Fields in his “Naturalis Historiae”
