About
FEAST – Food Experiences Accessible for Sustainable Tourism
FEAST (Food Experiences Accessible for Sustainable Tourism) is an innovative project developed in Girona that transforms traditional food tourism into inclusive, sustainable and accessible experiences for everyone.
Through real-life pilot experiences focused on olive oil, wine and fishing culture, FEAST works with local producers, cultural spaces and tourism SMEs to identify and remove barriers that prevent people from fully enjoying food-related tourism activities.
What makes FEAST unique is its holistic approach to accessibility. The project goes beyond physical access, addressing:
-
food allergies and dietary needs,
-
cultural and religious diversity,
-
cognitive and interpretative accessibility,
-
sensory and experiential inclusion.
FEAST develops a practical and transferable methodology, supported by simple digital tools, that helps tourism and food SMEs improve their experiences while strengthening sustainability, digital readiness and business resilience.
Aligned with the European TASTE – Go Green, Get Digital, Be Resilient programme, FEAST contributes to:
-
sustainable local food tourism (Km0, circular economy),
-
digital tools for capacity building and accessibility,
-
more resilient and diversified tourism models.
FEAST is not just a local project — it is a scalable European model for inclusive food tourism.
