At the DLR Institute of Transport Research, we are shaping the mobility of the future. To this end, we are developing economically viable solutions that are socially fair and climate-friendly. For this purpose, we develop means of transport, transport services and spaces for transport to meet the demands of personal mobility and the needs of production and trade.

By pooling our expertise and conducting interdisciplinary research, we are pursuing an integrated approach that looks at the system as a whole. Studies and expert reports include social acceptance and the socio-economic impact of new mobility solutions – from electromobility and on-demand transport to the flatrate public tranport tarif in Germany, called 'Deutschland-Ticket'. We are designing new mobility solutions and spaces of transport to meet the diverse demands of a modern society – in both urban and rural areas. Furthermore, we are helping to bring new digitally supported transportation services to the market.
