SolarRig Sàrl is a Swiss cleantech company that develops, builds and tests rigid solar wing sails for catamarans and yachts, enabling low‑emission and ultimately zero‑emission propulsion for shipping. Its founder Mark Wüst was part of the first solar‑powered Atlantic crossing with the catamaran sun21 in 2006/07 – a world record of about 7,000 nautical miles without a drop of fuel – and has been building solar‑powered boats for more than 30 years.

For the next step, the non‑profit SUNsation association is providing its SUNsation 52 solar catamaran as a floating lab and proof‑of‑concept platform to cross the Atlantic, test the SOLARRIG system under real offshore conditions, collect performance data and prepare its future commercialization.
