Dual project SOLARRIG & SUNsation
Skipper, Project facilitator at SOLARRIG SARL
Niederuzwil, Switzerland
About
SOLARRIG & SUNsation are developing a new generation of wind‑and‑solar ship propulsion: rigid solar wing sails tested offshore on the SUNsation 52 solar catamaran as a floating lab and proof of concept. Built from flax, paulownia wood, bio‑resin, recycled foam, aluminium and cork, the system cuts diesel use and CO₂, NOx and SOx emissions while making ships quieter and safer.
You can get involved as an R&D partner (biocomposites, PV, sensors, AI control), as a shipyard or naval architect integrating SOLARRIG into newbuilds and retrofits, as an operator building quiet zero‑emission fleets, or as an investor co‑funding the first SOLARRIG systems, AI control software, digital twin and proof‑of‑concept data phase
