Invest in Net-Zero Tertiary Wastewater Treatment
Co-founder, CEO and Director at Daphne Water Solutions
Birmingham, United Kingdom
About
Daphne Water Solutions (DWS) is ready to commercialise a patented, nature-based tertiary wastewater treatment technology designed to remove PFAS and other persistent pollutants from wastewater. The technology addresses a critical and growing challenge for water utilities: achieving regulatory compliance and enabling water reuse while meeting net-zero commitments and controlling operating costs.
DWS’s solution uses nature ingenuity combined with sustainable engineering. It uses century-old Daphnia, naturally occurring freshwater invertebrates, as a living biofilter to remove a broad range of hard-to-treat contaminants without external energy input, chemical dosing, or land-intensive infrastructure. The system is compact, modular, and retrofit-ready, allowing utilities to upgrade existing assets rather than build new treatment capacity. Independent life-cycle assessment demonstrates that the technology has a negligible carbon footprint and reduces ecotoxicity by 20%.
The technology has reached early commercial stage, with live installations operating in the UK and internationally, including deployments funded directly by utilities and land managers. DWS holds a strong IP position, with granted patents in key markets - UK, EU, USA, South Africa and Hong Kong.
DWS is seeking investment to accelerate commercial deployment, expand manufacturing and delivery capacity, and support market entry with water utilities and industrial wastewater operators in Europe and beyond. The opportunity is well suited to investors focused on water and climate resilience, sustainable infrastructure, and scalable environmental technologies.
