About
GreenPlasma is an advanced thermochemical conversion system developed by IRIS to address the challenge of non-recyclable waste. Operating at very high temperatures, the technology ensures complete breakdown of complex waste streams while avoiding the formation of hazardous by-products. The process is designed to maximize energy recovery, producing clean syngas and secondary raw materials that can be reintegrated into industrial value chains.
Thanks to its modular design, GreenPlasma can be deployed at different scales, from pilot units (5 kg/h) to larger industrial systems (50–250 kg/h). This flexibility enables its integration into diverse contexts such as municipal waste management, industrial production sites, or decentralized energy generation.
A key advantage of GreenPlasma lies in its circular economy orientation: instead of landfilling or incineration, waste is transformed into useful outputs like energy carriers or recyclable solids. The process minimizes emissions, reduces reliance on fossil fuels, and creates new opportunities for local resource valorization.
As part of IRIS’s technology portfolio, GreenPlasma has been tested in multiple demonstration projects, showcasing its potential as a sustainable and scalable solution for industries and utilities seeking to close material loops and decarbonize their operations.
