12 months in tonneaux (500 litres), half of the woods come from the Black Forest, a small forest in south-west Germany on the border with France, which gives structure and character to Barbera, the other half are French woods which give a vanilla note to the smell while rounding the acidity typical of the variety in the mouth; followed by 12 months of aging in the bottle
