About

Planck Technologies is a Norwegian deep-tech startup developing advanced materials and optimized gas capture, purification and storage systems to unlock circular, long-duration energy storage. By combining computational chemistry, AI-driven screening, and system modeling, we select the most promising porous materials candidates from families like MOFs and COFs tailored for hydrogen, biogas, and CO₂ capture, purification and storage.​

Our core mission is to make renewable energy competitive by transforming underused local waste streams into efficient, dispatchable energy carriers. We focus on “circular energy integration: valorising local waste streams for industrial efficiency” by:​

  • Upgrading biogas and industrial off-gases using advanced sorbents to recover energy-rich components (e.g. methane, hydrogen) and capture CO₂ for reuse.​

  • Designing gas handling systems that operate at milder pressures and temperatures, reducing energy demand and infrastructure needs for industrial users.​

  • Co-optimizing materials, tank design, and system integration to maximize lifecycle efficiency, safety, and economic viability for local energy ecosystems.​

We collaborate with leading research institutes and industrial partners to test our materials in real adsorption and gas handling systems. As an early-stage company with strong industry experience, we are actively seeking:​

  • Industrial partners with local waste streams (biogas plants, process industries, hydrogen producers) interested in valorization and energy storage.​

  • Regional stakeholders and innovation hubs working on circular energy projects who need expertise within advanced materials, modeling, and techno-economic assessment.​

  • Consortia for RIVCircular cascade funding focused on circular energy integration, where we can contribute deep-tech gas capture, purification and storage solutions.​

Through RIVCircular, we aim to co-develop demonstrators that prove how smart gas handling can turn local waste streams into flexible, low-carbon energy for industry, strengthening regional innovation valleys and accelerating the circular economy.
