About

Planck Technologies is a Norwegian deep-tech company specialising in advanced materials and system design for circular gas capture, purification and long-duration energy storage. Combining computational chemistry, AI-driven screening and process modelling, we select porous materials (e.g. MOFs, COFs, tailored sorbents) and optimize gas hanlding systems for specific waste streams such as biogas, industrial off-gases and CO₂-rich emissions.

Our expertise spans the full chain from molecule to system:

  • High-throughput in silico screening of materials for selective adsorption of gases like CH₄, CO₂ and H₂.

  • Process and system modelling of adsorption units and storage tanks, including energy use, integration with existing industrial processes and performance under real operating conditions.

  • Techno-economic evaluation of circular energy concepts, providing clear indicators (CAPEX/OPEX ranges, efficiency, utilization of local waste streams) to support investment and funding decisions.

Within the RIVCircular context, our expertise directly supports “circular energy integration: valorising local waste streams for industrial efficiency” by enabling:

  • Upgrading of biogas and other waste gases into higher-value energy carriers through advanced capture and purification.

  • Design of safer, less energy-intensive gas storage systems that reduce energy intensity and infrastructure needs.

  • Feasibility and optimization for pilots and regional circular economy projects.

We work closely with industrial partners, research institutes and regional stakeholders, and are ready to contribute our deep-tech capabilities to RIVCircular consortia seeking to turn local waste gases into efficient, low-carbon energy solutions.
