RIV Circular - Circular energy integration

RIVCircular is an EU-funded interregional initiative (with Innlandet fylkeskommune as a partner) offering grants for circular-economy innovation projects, with an open call closing 17 September.

RIV Circular funds five thematic areas, of which we are targeting Area 2 – Circular Energy Integration (project budget €1-2M, with a maximum of €600,000 per participating company). A core requirement is cross-regional collaboration: each project must bring together at least three actors from three different regions within the RIVCircular network.

We see this call as the natural first step toward the international expansion of Arctic Industries' RESURA pre-processing technology. Our proposed scope is to map the regulatory and market barriers and opportunities for deploying RESURA in markets beyond Norway, bringing in both upstream and downstream partners across the value chain.

On the upstream side, this means sources of industrial-scale packaged food waste and partners who can share data and insight on how such waste is handled, composed, and qualified in their geographies.

On the downstream side, it means biogas plants assessing the viability of integrating RESURA-based process lines into existing infrastructure, and off-takers for the recovered plastic fraction evaluating recyclability and/or pyrolysis potential.

Partnering with us at this stage is an opportunity to help shape a circular value chain for packaged food waste across Europe, turning a material that is largely incinerated today into clean, recyclable raw materials and additional biogas feedstock.
