About me

I am an interdisciplinary researcher with a background in Applied Biology, Micro/Nanotechnologies, and Physics, currently at the University of Minho (Portugal). My research integrates materials science, environmental engineering, microbiology, nanotechnology, and additive manufacturing to develop innovative solutions for environmental remediation and monitoring.

My main research interests include multifunctional materials, 3D-printed systems, photocatalysis, membrane technologies, sensing platforms, bioinspired materials, and hybrid remediation approaches for contaminants of emerging concern, including antibiotics, PFAS, heavy metals, and other persistent pollutants. I am particularly interested in integrating advanced materials with biological processes to develop sustainable, circular-economy-driven technologies.

Throughout my career, I have established collaborations with leading research institutions across Europe and beyond, including Germany, Spain, China, Algeria, and Portugal. I currently coordinate and participate in several national and European projects, including Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Horizon Europe initiatives, and have served as an Expert Evaluator for the EIC Pathfinder programme.

I’m excited to collaborate with researchers passionate about pushing the boundaries in advanced materials, environmental tech, biotech, additive manufacturing, water treatment, sensing systems, circular economy solutions, and sustainable innovation.
