We are a team located at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (PL), conducting translational research focused on developing new applications of stem cells (SCs) and extracellular vesicles (EVs) in regenerative medicine, including cardiology.
The Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology (FBBB) at Jagiellonian University in Kraków is an interdisciplinary center for modern molecular life sciences. Its departments study biological processes at molecular, cellular and organismal levels, combining biochemistry, biophysics, molecular and cell biology, microbiology, genetics, immunology, biotechnology, regenerative medicine and bioinformatics. The Faculty links fundamental research with biomedical, pharmaceutical, environmental and biotechnological applications. Innovative areas of research includes stem cell biology, extracellular vesicles and development of advanced therapy medicinal products, with potential applications in regenerative medicine. The FBBB JU is opened for cooperation with other Partners in MSCA actions, including in MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, MSCA Staff Exchange program and other initiatives.
I am a Full Professor in Medical Sciences (specialty in Medical Biology) and a Group Leader in the Department of Cell Biology at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
For last 20 years my research interest is mostly focused on applications of selected stem cell (SC) populations and their derivatives (extracellular vesicles, EVs) in tissue regeneration, especially in ischemic tissue repair.
I am an expert in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, including in development of SC- and EV- based therapeutic products in GMP standards, for use in treatment of e.g. cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and chronic inflammatory diseases.
I am looking for Partners interested in collaboration within new project addressing health problems, predominantly in patients with CVDs and other heart disorders, where SCs or SC- derived EVs may be used for treatment.
I am opened to be a Supervisor for Postdocs or PhD Students as well as to be a Parner joining a consortium, under MSCA actions, including MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, MSCA Staff Exchange program and other initiatives.
"Stem Cell and EV Team" at FBBB JU in Krakow (Poland) led by Prof. Ewa Zuba-Surma invites for cooperation within MSCA actions, including MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, MSCA Staff Exchange and other initiative! You are welcome to join forces with us!
