Dr. Teresa Valverde Esteve is a professor at the Department of Didactics of Physical, Artistic and Music Education at the University of Valencia (Spain).

My organisation

The University of Valencia stands out as one of the main public research organisations in Spain, with more than three thousand researchers integrated in 84 departments, 21 institutes and 5 other research units, belonging to social, biomedical, human, experimental and formal sciences. Along with human resources, the University of Valencia state-of-art premises and facilities, together with its instrumental equipment, both guarantee the quality of a vast scientific and technological offer available to the service of society. The University of Valencia is participating in many European projects under the subsequent RTD European Framework Programmes and other European programmes: Erasmus, Leonardo, Life+, Cost, Health Programme, Digital Europe, EEA Grants, Interreg, Justice and REC Programmes, Creative Europe, etc. acting as several roles (coordinator, beneficiary, partner, associated partner, host institution...) having experience in the development and management of more than 700 European and international projects as a whole. The University of Valencia participated in 78 community actions financed under the VII Framework Programme (Coordination and Support Actions, Collaborative Projects, Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, ERC Advanced and Starting grants, etc.) amounting to 23.844.145 euros, with the role of coordinator in 29 of them. We have been awarded with 102 projects under Horizon 2020 (2014-2020), with the role of coordinator in 40 of them, and 87 projects under Horizon Europe (2021-2027), with the role of coordinator in 33 of them. Regarding Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), 37 projects were funded under Horizon 2020 and currently 26 under Horizon Europe, making a total of 63 projects. As for European Research Council actions (ERC), a total of 28 projects were funded: 16 under Horizon 2020 and 12 under Horizon Europe. Currently, we are taking part in 82 projects under European framework programmes H2020 and Horizon Europe, and in 81 projects under international and European Programmes other than framework ones, such as Life, Interreg, Connecting Europe Facility, Digital Europe, etc. which makes up a total of 163 ongoing community actions.

About me

As a professor, Dr. Valverde-Esteve holds a doctorate in Research and Development, a Master's degree in Secondary School Professor training, a Bachelor's degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, a Diploma in Master's Degree, specialist in Physical Education, in addition to various continuing education programs.

Dr. Valverde-Esteve has two six-year research periods recognized by ANECA and has performed research stays internationally (California as Fulbrighter, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland, Norway, Finland, Germany) and nationally (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), among others. She has collaborated with the Jaume I University and the ENDAVANT Team, AFES (Universitat de València), University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, University of Vigo, Center of Olympic Studies and the University of Playa Ancha (Chile), among others. She has published diverse articles, books and book chapters, derived from these collaborations in the main international databases, and editorials such as McGraw Hill, Springer, Peter Lang, Octaedro, Dykinson, Tirant Lo Blanch, among others. She has also participated in the organization of numerous international conferences and in the dissemination of the results of research and innovation in various international and national events. Currently, among the publications, she works in topics such as Active Methodologies, Non-Linear Pedagogy, Cooperative Learning, Service Learning, Content Language Integrated Learning, Gamification, as well as the validation of data that allows the analysis of teaching resources, the programs to promote physical activities in populations, the limitations and barriers for the practice of physical activity, and the assessment of physical activity and the physical condition in individual and team esports, among others.

She has also directed financial projects awarded by the Generalitat Valenciana, as well as various teaching innovation projects carried out by the Faculty of Teacher Training of the University of Valencia and the University Jaume I of Castellón. Currently, she directs the MUAMI (Multidisciplinary Active Methods Innovation) group, collaborating with professionals from different fields of study. She has been invited as a speaker at international conferences, seminars on multiculturalism and inclusion and educational innovation conferences derived from her professional activity.
