The University of Siegen is a young, modern, mid-sized institution of higher education (around 14,400 students) in Germany, located about 80 km east of Cologne. In Siegen, education and research, the core tasks of a German university, are performed by over 247 professors and 1,172 scientific employees who are supported by around 880 administrative staff. The University of Siegen focuses its human resource activities for researchers within the framework of the European Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R). In 2017 the HR Excellence Research label has been received from the European Commission. Our University mainly consists of 4 highly interdisciplinary faculties covering a wide range of scientific areas including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, technology, healthcare, and wellbeing.
