About
The group led by Dr. Concepción Marañón at the GENYO Center in Granada, Spain, is interested in hosting two MSCA Fellows.
Dr. Concepción Marañón is a Senior Research at GENYO, working in the field of translational immunology in rheumatic diseases, with a particular focus on systemic lupus erythematosus and lupus nephritis. Her research spans urinary liquid biopsy, cellular and animal models, and single‑cell immunology. Trained in immunology, molecular biology, and scientific communication, she has developed a strong profile in synthesizing complex clinical, genomic, and epidemiological data for translational applications. She has authored over 78 peer‑reviewed publications, and has participated in or led multiple competitive research projects at the national and international level. She collaborates closely with academic groups, nephrology and rheumatology units, and biotechnology companies, contributing to a research ecosystem that integrates mechanistic insight with clinical applicability to improve early diagnosis, patient stratification, and therapeutic decision‑making in autoimmune diseases.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE LEVEL
Required education level: PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in life sciences.
Main research field: Immune-mediated diseases
Sub research field: Biomarkers, drug discovery
Language: English
Skills: Strong background in molecular and cellular immunology. Knowledge of rheumatic diseases and experience in translational research are advisable. Depending on the topic, skills in cytometry, immunoassays, cellular or animal models are desirable. Good interpersonal and communications skills will be highly valued.

· shall be in possession of a doctoral degree.
· must have a maximum of eight years of experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree, years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count towards the above maximum, nor will years of experience in research in third countries, for nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries who wish to reintegrate to Europe.
· must not have resided or carried out their main activities in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the above-mentioned deadline.
