Human-Centred Technology for Education

I am a Professor at the Faculty of Computing and Meta-Technology, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia. I hold a DPhil in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, an M.Eng.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Multimedia University, and a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.

My research spans Artificial Intelligence, AI in Education, Learning Analytics, Intelligent Systems, Data Analytics, Educational Technology, and Child Development. While my earlier research focused on image and signal processing and machine learning, my current work explores human-centred AI that supports personalized, inclusive, and evidence-based learning. I am particularly interested in responsible AI, multimodal educational data, learning analytics, and AI governance for education.

I have led and collaborated on numerous nationally and internationally funded research, consultancy, and educational innovation projects. My work bridges computer science and education, translating AI research into practical solutions for educators, learners, and policymakers.
