MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Hosting Opportunity: 6G Non-Terrestrial Networks and Satellite Communications
About
Project idea
Hellas Sat is interested in hosting an excellent MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship candidate to develop a research project in the field of 6G Non-Terrestrial Networks (6G-NTN), with emphasis on the integration of satellite communication systems into future terrestrial mobile networks.
The proposed research may address topics such as GEO/LEO satellite integration in 5G-Advanced and 6G architectures, NTN service continuity, link adaptation under satellite channel constraints, latency-aware protocol design, satellite–terrestrial interoperability, secure and resilient SatCom services, and the role of satellite operators in future 3D network architectures.
The fellow will have the opportunity to work in an industrial satellite-operator environment, gaining exposure to real satellite communication systems, operational constraints, ground-segment infrastructure, link-budget considerations, and emerging requirements for future secure and resilient connectivity services.
Possible research directions
-
6G NTN architectures and satellite–terrestrial network integration
-
GEO satellite contribution to future 6G connectivity and service continuity
-
Performance evaluation of NTN links under realistic satellite constraints
-
Secure, resilient and interoperable SatCom services for future networks
-
AI/ML-assisted resource management, link adaptation, or traffic handling in NTN scenarios
-
Hybrid GEO/LEO/terrestrial connectivity concepts for critical and remote-area services
Candidate profile
We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background in one or more of the following areas: wireless communications, satellite communications, 5G/6G systems, NTN, signal processing, network protocols, RF systems, telecommunications engineering, or secure communications.
