Space–Ground Quantum Key Distribution and Secure Satellite Communications
About
Expertise in space–ground quantum key distribution (QKD) and secure satellite communications, focusing on the design, analysis, and integration of quantum-secure links over optical free-space satellite channels. This includes system and architecture design, link-budget and performance analysis, and implementation of prepare-and-measure and entanglement-based QKD protocols adapted to satellite and hybrid space–ground environments.
The expertise covers secure key management, interoperability with classical cryptographic and post-quantum cryptography (PQC) systems, and security assessment against realistic space-channel threats. Activities are aligned with standardisation and infrastructure initiatives supporting GOVSATCOM-like services, critical communications, and future European quantum communication infrastructures, and are offered through collaborative research, training, and technology-transfer activities suitable for MSCA projects.
