• Health and wellbeing: the use of engineering methods and technology to support all phases of health care, digital health, and wellbeing, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

• Transport and mobility: the use of engineering methods and technologies to support planning, operation, and optimization of transportation systems, including intelligent traffic management, sustainable mobility solutions, autonomous vehicles, and multimodal transport integration for efficient and eco-friendly movement of people and goods.

• Sustainable and smart society: the use of engineering methods, digital technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches to support resilient, inclusive, and culturally vibrant communities. This includes digital humanities, digital governance, social innovation to enhance quality of life, cybersecurity to ensure digital resilience and trust, the ethical and responsible use of technology, and solutions that support cultural, social, and environmental sustainability.

• Industrial innovation and applications: the use of engineering methods, technologies, and algorithms across industry, manufacturing, and everyday life. This includes automation and robotics for improved productivity, predictive maintenance enabled by AI and IoT, additive manufacturing (such as 3D printing) for flexible production, and the use of digital twins to simulate, monitor, and optimize processes.
