1) economic inequality: current level, drivers and consequences; the long-run evolution, impact on politics, impact of public policy
2) economic history: the long-run impact of institutions on economic development, the consequences of past events on today’s outcomes (persistence studies), the impact of state policy on various social strata (social classes, ethnic group), historical national accounts
3) World War Two and the Holocaust: focus on the impact of both events on the long-run economic development, distribution of income & wealth, social stratification
While our research has a strong focus on Central and Eastern Europe, we also welcome projects with a European or global scope.
