MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship in economics/ history/political science/public policy

SGH Warsaw School of Economics is looking for a candidate to apply to Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship. As the leading business school and economic faculty in Central and Eastern Europe, SGH combines academic rigor with a focus on solving real-world problems. Our campus is located in the heart of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, and the most dynamic metropolis in the region.

We are looking for applicants interested in the interdisciplinary study of economic inequality. While candidates completing degrees in economics, history, political science, or public policy are preferred, we welcome applications from individuals with diverse academic backgrounds.

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with Dr. Marcin Wroński, assistant professor at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. Dr. Wroński leads a research project funded by the Polish National Science Centre on the long-term evolution of economic inequality and intergenerational mobility in Poland

We are particularly interested in candidates who wish to conduct research on the following topics:

1)     economic inequality: current level, drivers and consequences; the long-run evolution, impact on politics, impact of public policy

2)     economic history: the long-run impact of institutions on economic development, the consequences of past events on today’s outcomes (persistence studies), the impact of state policy on various social strata (social classes, ethnic group), historical national accounts

3)     World War Two and the Holocaust: focus on the impact of both events on the long-run economic development, distribution of income & wealth, social stratification

While our research has a strong focus on Central and Eastern Europe, we also welcome projects with a European or global scope.

Additional information

This position will be funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, and candidates must fulfill MSCA requirements. If our application is successful, the candidate will be compensated according to MSCA rules. Additionally, there is potential to augment the research budget through collaborative applications for further external funding. While the initial position is for 2 years, it may serve as the beginning of a longer collaboration.
