HealthWallet.me - Advancing European Health Data Spaces (EHDS) and improving interoperability

The platform focuses on building a patient-first healthtech ecosystem with a simple mission: giving individuals full control of their medical records directly on their own devices.

The Problem: The Healthcare Data Crisis

The presentation outlines a crisis defined by two main factors:

• Fragmentation: Patients visit multiple specialists and hospitals, leaving records scattered across different portals. This makes it nearly impossible for a single doctor to see a comprehensive view, leading to life-altering risks in critical moments due to missing medical history.

• The Privacy Trade-off: Existing solutions often force a compromise between convenience and privacy. Cloud storage creates centralised targets for hackers and allows for data mining and tracking .

The Solution: HealthWallet App

The application is built on the philosophy of "Your Records. On Your Device," ensuring zero compromise on privacy. Key features include:

• Privacy & Security: There is no cloud storage or tracking; everything stays private on the device, secured by biometric keys (face or fingerprint).

• Core Functionality: The app features "Snap and sync" capabilities, peer-to-peer secure sharing, and "private portability".

• Health Data Management: Users can track vital signs (Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Temperature, Blood Oxygen) and manage allergies, clinical notes, lab results, immunisations, and files .

• Offline Capability: Critical health information is accessible anytime, even without an internet connection.

• Strategic Partnerships and Interoperability

HealthWallet highlights a partnership with Fasten Health, a TEFCA-certified initiative, to empower patients through data access for USA but we are aiming for an International coverage though various partners.

• TEFCA Integration: Leveraging the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA), the system allows consumers to automatically access their info from thousands of organizations via a single connection.

• Network Stats: The integration connects to over 50,000 health systems and supports 40+ EHRs (including Epic, Aetna, and Athena), covering 78% of beds across the US with an average record retrieval time of 5 minutes .

Technical Architecture

The system creates a Local Area Network (LAN) ecosystem for data transfer:

• Self-Hosted Backend: Users can run a self-hosted instance desktop app to aggregate records from providers.

• Direct Sync: Data synchronises directly from the secure backend to the mobile device via LAN using QR code authentication.

• Standards & AI: The architecture is FHIR Compliant (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and includes an OCR Module for physical docs and AI Health Insights.

Leadership and Vision

The solution provider is Life Value, led by CEO Alex Szilagyi. The leadership draws a parallel to Volvo open-sourcing the seatbelt, stating that "data privacy shouldn't be a luxury".
