Ionburst- simple to use, automated, hybrid-Cloud data protection and secure sharing providing better, easier, cheaper data security, compliance and sovereignty,

co-founder, Ionburst at Ionburst

Edinburgh, United Kingdom

About

Ionburst actively bridges the security gap between data on-premises and the Cloud by providing strong security guardrails and integrated data management. That’s why IBM recognises Ionburst as a top 40 fintech globally. How Ionburst is helping to protect critical data in a hybrid world

Ionburst overcomes weaknesses in existing solutions via its patented “data out” protection.

By embedding, security, recovery resilience and sovereignty measures into every data object, Ionburst empowers data to become an agent in its own defence and repair, able to withstand advanced adversary attacks and to recover from ransomware, irrespective of where it travels or is stored, without ever duplicating data.

Entities realise the power of Ionburst’s science via an easy to use management interface designed to help them overcome key data risk and compliance challenges across their hybrid-Cloud infrastructure.

Entities align their business data compliance and security policies by combining Ionburst automated:

1.     Encryption policies for validatable security;

2.     Fragmentation policies for assured obfuscation and privacy;

3.     Storage locations and regions for assured sovereignty and recovery.

Ionburst’s innovation in symmetric key distribution applied to every data object further assures quantum-safe data in transit and at rest.

These innovations are containerised into powerful microservices that:

1.     Can be deployed across any trusted platform from on premises to Cloud

2.     Scale on demand;

3.     Are optimised to operate at near wire speed;

4.     Can be configured for multi-Cloud active failover.

 Expected role of partner / client

1.     Partner should lead customer identification and engagement– Ionburst as subcontractor;

2.     Could be direct provision of Ionburst to an end client or via principal partner with client;

3.     Partner/client should have clear requirements for sovereign/hybrid Cloud data protection & compliance. E.g.:

3.1.  Cloud providers and/or client infrastructure?

3.2.  Regional scope

3.3.  Client/partner capability to support first/second line client issues – Ionburst 3rd line ideally unless direct to client provision

3.4.  Requirement for multi-deployment Ionburst set-up or single instance…

4.     Ionburst is raising capital.  Possible Client investment/customer relationship?

5.     Potential for collaboration arrangement with partner?

Size of partner / client

1.     Ionburst is not suitable for small clients unless with highly sensitive data protection needs

2.     Single instance Ionburst license is £300k; Multi-instances & active failovers more expensive ;

3.     Clients with significant regulatory or sensitive data volumes are best target customers;

4.     They lack solutions that put them in control of complex hybrid-Cloud data management capabilities. Existing solutions:

4.1.  Cost more

4.2.  With vendor lock-in

4.3.  Extra resource needs

4.4.  Complex compliance & multi-regulation often;

4.5.  Higher data overheads;

4.6.  Lack of portability;

Ionburst can address the above in a single solution the end client controls;

5.     For the above reasons, client size is likely medium-large with capabilities to manage internal client infrastructure and Cloud;
