TEVIA – Digital Perimenopause Access Pathway for Underserved Women | UNITE Call 2
Founder & CEO, TEVIA | Women's Health & Digital Health at Plantevia Sanastore srl
Oradea, Romania
About
TEVIA is seeking partners for a UNITE Call 2 project addressing inequalities in access to perimenopause care.
Access to women’s health expertise varies considerably between regions and care settings. Women living in underserved, remote or lower-access areas may have limited access to professionals experienced in perimenopause, fragmented referral pathways and difficulties obtaining appropriate follow-up.
The proposed project would develop and validate a digitally enabled perimenopause access pathway designed to connect women, primary-care professionals and specialist services across regions with different levels of access to women’s health expertise.
TEVIA would contribute the perimenopause-specific use case, structured symptom-assessment and follow-up framework, patient needs and product requirements, user and market insight, Romanian implementation capacity and a commercialisation pathway.
The project could integrate existing digital-health technologies to support:
• structured digital assessment of symptoms, menstrual-cycle changes and relevant health information before entering the care pathway;
• identification of the appropriate next level of care, without replacing professional diagnosis or clinical decision-making;
• better preparation of women for primary-care and specialist consultations;
• digital connection between women, primary-care professionals and specialist women’s health services;
• remote specialist input for regions where local expertise is limited;
• referral pathways for women requiring specialist assessment;
• longitudinal follow-up after consultation or referral;
• continuity of relevant information across different care settings;
• support for primary-care professionals managing women locally when specialist referral is not required;
• adaptation and testing of the pathway across different regional healthcare environments.
The objective is to improve access to appropriate perimenopause care by enabling specialist expertise to reach women beyond traditional geographical and organisational boundaries, while strengthening coordination between primary care and specialist services.
The project should also examine how the same digital pathway can be adapted and transferred between regions with different healthcare structures, levels of specialist availability and digital-health infrastructure.
We are looking for:
• digital-health solution providers with existing technologies suitable for adaptation and integration into a cross-regional care pathway;
• universities or research organisations with expertise in women’s health, primary care, health-services research, digital health or evaluation;
• primary-care organisations and healthcare services able to participate in pathway design and implementation;
• women’s health or specialist services able to provide remote or referral-based expertise;
• hospitals, health-system innovation hubs or other healthcare end-users able to support real-world piloting;
• partners from Scotland or Wales and other eligible UNITE regions interested in testing transferability across different healthcare settings.
Relevant technology capabilities may include digital assessment, referral and care coordination, telehealth, remote specialist collaboration, longitudinal follow-up, interoperable health-data exchange and patient-facing digital platforms.
