Displify Heritage Pilot — From Static Signage to Smart, Multilingual Open Displays

Everyware Computing SRL (Iași, Romania) is a CR.EU.IN.HERITAGE Innovation Leader developing Displify. The platform builds on the founder's PhD research on Open Display Networks and the broader European research community established through the FP7 PD-Net project, and is designed for cultural, healthcare and public-space environments.

We aim to help heritage venues move from static, one-way communication toward dynamic, visitor-centred experiences that can be updated in real time, support multiple languages and adapt to changing exhibitions, events and audiences. At the same time, the platform reduces reliance on printed labels, posters and wayfinding materials.

Displify transforms digital screens into programmable, multi-application communication hubs. The platform provides an application orchestration layer that enables multiple applications and content providers to share the same screen, creating a dynamic communication environment rather than a traditional digital signage playlist. A single display can combine multilingual storytelling, exhibition information, wayfinding, accessibility features, event communication and visitor engagement services, with content managed and updated centrally.

Displify has already been validated in a real multi-stakeholder environment, orchestrating eight screens for more than 500 participants during the DIZ 4.0 Conference in Iași.

What the partner provides

• A cultural heritage SME, museum, heritage site, visitor centre, cultural organisation or public authority interested in co-designing and validating a pilot in a real visitor-facing environment.

• Ideally, a Step 1 selected SME or a consortium partner preparing a Step 2 proposal and looking for a technology provider and pilot innovation partner.

• Existing displays or the willingness to install one or two screens for the pilot.

• Access to operational and curatorial staff, together with selected cultural content, for a focused co-design phase.

• Openness to defining and measuring outcomes such as visitor engagement, multilingual reach, accessibility, content-update efficiency and reduced reliance on printed materials.

Our ideal outcome is to conduct a small but demonstrable pilot with clearly defined KPIs, providing evidence of impact for visitors and the venue, and a practical basis for replication across other heritage sites — potentially within a Step 2, cascade-funded project.
