URBANA is a Civil Non-Profit Partnership founded in 2019 in Athens, Greece. We are an interdisciplinary group of architects, social scientists, political scientists, and educators working at the intersection of space, society, and equity. Our vision is of cities that care - urban environments shaped by the diverse needs of their residents, where public spaces foster connection, participation, and collective wellbeing.
Rooted in feminist and rights-based urbanism, URBANA advocates for open, inclusive, and sustainable neighborhoods where no one is left behind. We focus especially on amplifying the voices of groups historically underrepresented in urban planning and governance, such as women, children, older adults, people with migrant backgrounds, and other structurally excluded communities.
Through participatory design processes, community-based research, and educational initiatives, we create tools and frameworks that democratize access to the city. Our mission aligns with the core values of the New European Bauhaus: we aim to build beautiful, inclusive, and sustainable spaces that reflect the lived experiences and aspirations of all residents.
