About
URBANA is a nonprofit urban design collective based in Athens, Greece, offering expertise in participatory, feminist, and inclusive urban transformation. We specialize in co-creating public spaces, with communities—especially women, children, youth, caregivers, and marginalized groups—using methods rooted in social research, spatial design, and EU-funded innovation.
What we offer:
-
Participatory design processes tailored to diverse users
-
Gender-sensitive urban planning rooted in intersectional methodologies
-
Pilot-ready interventions for public spaces
-
Experience with municipalities and schools across Greece
-
Creative engagement tools such as workshops, mapping, and community art
-
Research & policy grounding linked to European urban agendas
URBANA has implemented projects in over 10 municipalities, partnering with local governments, universities, and civil society. Our work aligns closely with New European Bauhaus values—sustainability, inclusion, and beauty—and supports cities in delivering transformative, community-rooted change.
We are looking to join consortia that prioritize socially driven design, inclusive spatial interventions, and co-creation methodologies to foster place-based innovation in urban and peri-urban areas.
