Since 2013, Yes We Camp has been offering and managing available spaces, with a focus on intensifying uses. Our first activity is the creation of third spaces, also called common spaces or sustainable spaces, most often made available free of charge and temporarily by public owners. These alternative and innovative spaces are developed in partnership with the stakeholders involved in their design and management. The know-how deployed in these places is activated according to the technical characteristics of the location, the needs of the area and the intentions of Yes We Camp and its partners. The offers developed in these spaces are: welcoming people in vulnerable situations, emergency accommodation, managing solidarity canteens, providing artists' and craftsmen's workshops and workspaces for SSE players, rental management of event halls, animating outdoor spaces open to families, greening and developing biodiversity, local actions and free cultural events. Since 2017, Yes We Camp has taken on the management of a variable volume of between 5 and 10 venues, representing a cumulative surface area of between 10,000 and 20,000 m² of buildings, and between 20,000 and 100,000 m² of outdoor spaces. The association is at the crossroads of the following professional fields: architecture, urban planning, design, technical management, cooking, social action, collective governance, mediation, artistic creation, project coordination and cultural programming. Yes We Camp currently employs 75 salaried staff, several hundred volunteers, and numerous regular partners (architects, builders, artists, food producers). The salaried staff are divided into project teams and supervised by a “structure division”, which provides technical support, strategic guidance and cross-functional management of the association. Yes We Camp's General Assembly is made up of around a hundred members (by right after one year's involvement in the association, or chosen through a co-optation mechanism), who elect a 10-member Board of Directors. The association also includes direct beneficiaries of our projects (cumulative figures): the people and structures who live there: 1,200 people in emergency accommodation, 460 structures, representing over 3,000 people, for their work and production spaces; local residents and hundreds of thousands of visitors, all the people and structures who observe or hear the story of what happens there (these places have a direct production mechanism, but are also media, bearers of a testimony, a story, an inspiration). Since 2019, our association has partnered with Gustave Eiffel University and the Ancoats agency to create a university diploma with a view to spreading the methodology of creating these places. The university diploma trains around sixty people every year. Yes We Camp is also one of the NEB nominee 2024
