Green soundproofing for vibrant outdoor spaces
About
In collaboration with Fraunhofer IAO and architects Studio More, VibeLab developed the Green Sound Proofing Pavilion in Hamburg, a modular, adaptable structure that integrates culture and creativity, sustainability, and acoustic management. Designed with flexibility, each module allows for diverse configurations, enabling continuous reconfiguration and responsiveness to evolving urban needs. The pavilion uniquely combines dense greenery and innovative acoustic materials to mitigate urban noise, improve air quality, and support biodiversity. Actively engaging cultural life, the structure facilitates performances, social gatherings, and creative activities, enhancing community engagement and nighttime activation. Its circular design philosophy ensures sustainability through repeated assembly and reconfiguration, exemplifying a future-oriented approach to urban ecology and vibrant city life.
