Community-Driven Urban Space Activation in the City of Vantaa, Finland
About
Challenge: The city of Vantaa has unbuilt sites in its centers. The city would like to develope these neighbourhoods through community-driven approaches.
The goal is to create participatory models that strengthen local wellbeeing, improve access to public services and ensure the efficient use of municipal spaces, especially in neighbourhoods at risk of socio-spatial segregation.
We offer a pilot for community driven transformation of vacant urban spaces.
Further, we offer experience in EU funded projects, urban development and participatory methods and innovative and enthusiastic people working in our organization!
We seek a consortium, coordinator and partners that fit our proposal and needs to co-develop and pilot inclusive and sustainable approaches for transforming underused and vacant plots in urban centers.
We see potential in “Connecting the green transformation, social inclusion and local democracy” topics 1, 2 or 3.
