BioDroneWatch: AI-Driven Biodiversity Mapping and Ecological Restoration Planning

BioDroneWatch is a project proposal aiming to revolutionize how we monitor and restore ecosystems using drones, AI-powered image analysis, and open-access biodiversity data and a shared biodiversity platform.

We aim to establish a network of interdisciplinary partners from environmental sciences, drone engineering, AI development, landscape design, and public engagement sectors to co-create an inclusive, beautiful, and sustainable biodiversity intelligence platform.

Our concept aligns with the New European Bauhaus (NEB) values by:

Sustainability: Enabling data-driven ecological restoration and nature-based solutions.

Aesthetics: Visualizing biodiversity in engaging ways to reconnect people with local ecosystems.

Inclusion: Empowering local communities and authorities through accessible tools and participatory monitoring.

We are looking for project cooperation with: Nature conservation organizations, Landscape architects and urban planners, AI/data science institutions, Public authorities or municipalities working on climate and biodiversity, Social scientists for co-creation and citizen engagement

The BioDroneWatch system will be piloted in war-affected and ecologically critical areas in Ukraine and scaled to other European regions. We welcome collaboration on co-design, data use, educational integration, and NEB-aligned dissemination.
