PARTICIPATION-03: Inclusive Street Furniture Co-Creation for Vibrant Neighbourhood Renewal
About
A Türkiye-based cluster led by YTU, unites urban design think-tanks, municipal innovation labs and regional development agencies. Together we run digital-fabrication workshops, participatory studios and open streetscapes hosting 40 000+ daily users. For this RIA we will mobilise our living-lab network to co-design and deploy a family of modular, accessible and climate-positive street-furniture elements; benches, shading devices, micro-mobility docks manufactured from recycled composites and bio-based laminates. The cluster will steer citizen engagement, prototyping and pilot deployment, provide GIS-based impact monitoring, and translate results into policy toolkits for EU cities. We seek industrial designers, advanced-materials researchers and manufacturing SMEs to refine product engineering, plus academic partners to lead life-cycle and social-impact assessments across diverse climatic contexts.
