EPEKA – Housing Coop for Everybody

The EPEKA housing coop, SCE is proud to present its newest initiative: the transformation of an existing commercial building at Tyrševa ulica 15, centrally located in Maribor, into a vibrant housing cooperative. This renovation will convert the structure into 16 functional, energy-efficient cooperative apartments aimed at promoting affordability, social inclusion, and community resilience.

The building, which previously served as a business and office space, will undergo a full renovation respecting sustainable construction principles and the architectural heritage of the city. The project is designed not only to provide affordable housing but also to serve as a replicable model of urban renewal that aligns with European priorities for green transition and social equity.

This initiative will be developed under the legal framework of a Social Cooperative Enterprise (SCE), which enables cross-border partnerships and community-led housing development. We are currently looking for an international partner from another EU country to join the project, share know-how, and co-develop policy and technical models that can be transferred across borders.

EPEKA invites NGOs, cooperatives, housing experts, and municipalities from other EU member states to co-create this inclusive and forward-thinking housing solution in the spirit of European cooperation.
