Applied Research in Sustainable Housing Models for the Global South

Our work merges design experimentation, territorial diagnostics, and bioclimatic innovation to propose systemic responses to housing and climate challenges. We contribute not only to spatial design but to knowledge production and public discourse on housing, sustainability, and inclusion.

In 2022, our project Affordable Bio-Houses—a housing prototype integrating food sovereignty and bioclimatic architecture—was selected as an Exemplary Case by the UIA Affordable Housing Activation Forum in Madrid, and widely published across Europe and Latin America. In 2024, our studio was selected by the European Commission to present Estercuel Verde 2050 at the New European Bauhaus Festival in Brussels, showcasing the relevance of Global South perspectives for the European ecological transition.

We are currently seeking collaboration opportunities with academic institutions, municipalities, research labs or civil society actors in Europe who are interested in:

• South-to-north knowledge transfer in sustainable housing

• Comparative case studies on affordable housing

• Experimental methodologies for co-design and community-based research

• Joint publications, exhibitions, or capacity-building activities aligned with NEB values
