About

We are a design agency (private company) located in the north, in the Arctic region of Finland. We have developed a concept for future housing solutions in Arctic regions. A mobile mini-house unit that produces its own energy and treats its own waste. The need for this solution stems particularly from the lack of humane and high-quality housing for seasonal workers. There is a great need for housing, but operators (municipalities, companies) are not prepared to invest capital in construction. For this reason, we have developed a model in which the housing unit is brought to the site and can be easily moved if the need ceases. In this case, capital is not tied to immovable property that cannot be moved. The concept also involves a new kind of business logic and, above all, design based on user needs. This concept has been designed specifically for situations where permanent construction is not possible in the area for one reason or another.

A working prototype has been built, and we are now looking for partners and resources to further develop the prototype (and ecosystem model) and test it in real-life environments with real users.
