About
The Centre for Information and Popular Education (CIEP) is a well-established lifelong learning organisation officially recognised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and accredited by the Walloon Region as an integration actor.
Its mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking capacities required to act as engaged citizens in collective processes, contributing to the development of inclusive, democratic, and cohesive societies.
CIEP implements a wide range of activities combining information, awareness-raising, training, facilitation, and collective action across key societal domains, including environmental, cultural, economic, social, and political issues.
Its core activities include:
-
the organisation of socio-educational, socio-cultural, and socio-political initiatives for the general public (e.g. exhibitions, debates, film discussions, participatory theatre);
-
capacity-building programmes targeting professionals, staff members, and volunteer activists from social and educational organisations;
-
socio-cultural and socio-professional integration pathways for low-skilled adults;
-
advisory services supporting the creation and management of non-profit organisations.
CIEP operates as a non-profit organisation across the Walloon Region, with strong local anchoring and outreach capacities.
