CL2-2027-01-DEMOCRACY-01 : Lifelong learning organization seeking for a consortium
Lifelong Learning Facilitator at CIEP (Centre d'Information et d'Education Permanente)
Tournai, Belgium
About
Through a range of active and experiential learning approaches - such as decolonial walks, stereotype deconstruction workshops, intercultural dialogue spaces, artistic interventions, and targeted training - CIEP enhances understanding of the social, cultural, and historical drivers of hate speech and exclusion. These methodologies, already tested in real-life settings, enable the identification of polarization factors and the mechanisms through which hate speech spreads. They are transferable and adaptable across European contexts, supporting the co-development, testing, and validation of innovative solutions.
CIEP is embedded in a broad network of grassroots actors in Wallonia and has extensive experience in multi-actor cooperation, including NGOs, public authorities, and community-based organizations. This ensures a collaborative approach and the co-creation of solutions grounded in local realities.
A key strength of CIEP lies in its capacity to reach and engage underrepresented and hard-to-reach groups, including low-skilled adults, learners in French as a Foreign Language (FLE), beneficiaries of social welfare services, asylum seekers, women’s associations,... Through participatory methods, CIEP fosters inclusive spaces that promote civic engagement, social cohesion, and democratic participation.
With direct access to 150–200 participants and an extended network of partners, CIEP provides a valuable testing ground for piloting and validating project outputs in real-world conditions, ensuring relevance, inclusiveness, and impact.
CIEP also integrates digital tools and media literacy approaches tailored to vulnerable groups, contributing to the development of inclusive and scalable solutions.
Furthermore, CIEP actively contributes to capacity building and co-creation processes, including the design of training modules, the implementation of pilot actions, and the development of practice-oriented recommendations.
As a consortium partner, CIEP plays a key role in ensuring inclusiveness, access to target groups, field-based experimentation, and tangible societal impact, in line with Horizon Europe’s priorities on social innovation, democratic resilience, and lifelong learning.
