The German Adult Education Association (DVV) is the federal umbrella organisation of adult education centres (Volkshochschulen) in Germany. It promotes lifelong learning and educational work at local adult education centres and represents the interests of its members at federal, European and international levels. DVV is supported by a nationwide network of 827 adult education centres with 2,659 local branches across Germany, covering both urban and rural regions.
DVV International is the Institute for International Cooperation at DVV. As the leading professional organisation in the field of adult education and development cooperation, DVV International has committed itself to supporting lifelong learning for more than 50 years. DVV International cooperates with more than 200 civil society, government and academic partners in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe.
