The Arts and Humanities Institute (AHI) at Maynooth University is the University’s flagship hub for pioneering, interdisciplinary research, bringing together more than one hundred scholars to lead one of Maynooth’s five research beacons: Heritage, Language and Culture. Established in 2018, the AHI is at the forefront of European research in areas such as medieval and early modern studies, contested histories, medical humanities, creative practice and embodied knowledges, intersectional humanities, motherhoods, genders and sexualities, critical anthropocenes, and multilingualism and social justice. Its vibrant research culture supports collaboration with academic institutions, cultural organisations, industry, policy bodies and community partners, offering an ideal environment for developing ambitious, impactful, and competitively funded research.
