Lecturer in Music at Munster Technological University

Tralee, Ireland

About

Seeking to join or co-develop a Horizon Europe Cluster 2 consortium for HORIZON-CL2-2027-01-HERITAGE-06: Future-proofing sustainable cultural tourism.

My work focuses on intangible cultural heritage, rural cultural ecosystems, and digital approaches to experiencing and transmitting heritage. I am interested in projects that move cultural tourism beyond static presentation towards participatory, community-led, and sustainable models rooted in living traditions.

Particular interests include:

  • Sustainable cultural tourism in rural and peripheral regions

  • Intangible cultural heritage as a driver of tourism development

  • Community-led and participatory heritage tourism

  • Digital storytelling, sonic heritage, immersive experiences, and cultural routes

  • Linking archives, oral history, performance, and place-based storytelling

  • Youth engagement with heritage through new digital formats

  • Rural creative micro-economies and local cultural sustainability

  • Inclusive and accessible approaches to heritage tourism

I bring expertise in intangible cultural heritage, digital and sonic heritage, participatory and practice-based research, community engagement, and dissemination. My work includes community-based heritage projects in North Kerry and the development of the Living Tradition Lab.

Looking for coordinators, researchers, cultural organisations, tourism bodies, local authorities, and partners working in sustainable tourism, digital heritage, immersive technologies, and community-led cultural development.
