Tepla Gora Foundation has operated the Eco Centre since 2020 as a residential community learning venue on a 5-ha Carpathian site that already functions as an integrated low-carbon facility: 75% solar electricity, rainwater harvesting, on-site waste sorting, natural-material construction and a plant-based kitchen using own-grown produce.
Tepla Gora brings together civil society organizations, youth, volunteers, local communities, veterans and their families. Its mission is to inspire positive change for people, society and nature by promoting inner and outer ecology. The Centre's unique strength is its role as a living laboratory where environmental solutions can be tested, evaluated and demonstrated under real operating conditions, combining sustainable infrastructure, education, community engagement and partnerships.
Relevant experience includes the ongoing Kolo Programme, a holistic recovery programme for veterans and their families combining wellbeing, community building and nature-based approaches, with more than 500 participants to date. Tepla Gora also regularly hosts training programmes, volunteer initiatives, retreats and events for CSOs, youth groups and local communities, promoting environmental awareness, sustainable living and resilience.
Tepla Gora is a member of the Ecostations Network of Ukraine and Global Ecovillage Network Ukraine and has a five-year Memorandum of Cooperation with Verkhovyna District Council. Over the past five years, it has attracted more than USD 1.3 million from seven donors for social and green infrastructure projects.
