Cold-climate inhabited demo site & Hutsul heritage building - partner for NEB REGEN-01 (thermal comfort)

WHAT WE OFFER — a demonstration and pilot partner for REGEN-01

Tepla Gora runs an operational five-hectare eco-centre in the Ukrainian Carpathians: an inhabited, year-round, instrumented building cluster in a cold, high-humidity, high-snow-load mountain climate — conditions and an Associated Country under-represented in EU consortia. It is a working environment with real residents, not a facility built for a project.

Directly relevant to the mandatory requirements of REGEN-01, we provide:

• A cold-climate demonstration site in an Associated Country — helping meet the "at least two different climatic zones in different Member States and/or Associated Countries" requirement.

• Thermal-comfort solutions rooted in vernacular principles, nature-based solutions, bioclimatic design and frugal innovation: sawdust (wood by-product) insulation, local timber, clay and forest moss; a planned hybrid heat-pump, solar-thermal and solid-fuel system to pilot and instrument.

• Resident vulnerable users — internally displaced persons and veterans (500+ through our "Kolo" recovery programme) — enabling occupant-centred and social-sciences research on thermal comfort, wellbeing and energy behaviour.

• On-site measurement: 12-month indoor-environment and energy monitoring, pre- and post-intervention LCA (GHG and life-cycle cost), circularity audit and a BIM digital twin, delivered with the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics (NAS of Ukraine). This infrastructure is already funded — your project draws on it rather than paying for it.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A coordinator or consortium preparing a HORIZON-NEB-2026-01-REGEN-01 proposal (Innovation Action, deadline 1 December 2026) that needs a cold-climate / Associated-Country demonstration site or access to vulnerable user groups. Our role: demonstration / pilot and research partner (not coordinator). We are a non-profit (100% funding), registered on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal (PIC 883036106). Ukraine is a Widening country, so we are also open to joining ongoing Pillar II actions via the Hop-On Facility.

WHY IT WORKS

The building-fabric works and heat-pump hardware are co-financed from other sources; the project contribution funds only the innovative demonstration, monitoring and research layer.
