About
CiTUA – Centre for Innovation in Territory, Urbanism and Architecture at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon – develops research in Architecture and Urbanism within a broader agenda focused on transforming and strengthening the resilience of the built environment, particularly in the areas of housing, urban regeneration, and public policy.
Within this framework, CiTUA leads the project New Habitats for Convertible Vacant Buildings, which explores the potential of underused building stock to expand affordable housing supply in Portugal, contributing to a wider European debate.
This research is grounded in advanced academic expertise of a post-doc research in Architecture (Urban Forms and Dynamics, 2012) working on low-carbon urban metabolism, urban regeneration and housing rehabilitation, after postgraduate studies in Urbanism and a degree in Architecture.
