About
Using available data on historical pollution, we can develop a data analytics platform to assess its long term effects.
What our analytics platform will do:
1. Establish Data‑Driven Baselines
We will generate a complete baseline profile for each neighbourhood (urban, peri‑urban, rural), including:
-
Air quality baseline
-
Noise and vibration baseline
-
Microclimate profile
-
Traffic impact profile
-
Social/health vulnerability indicators
This enables comparison across demonstrator sites and quantifies existing negative impacts.
2. Perform Correlation & Causality Analysis
Using historical and real‑time datasets, the platform will identify relationships such as:
-
Weather vs. pollution accumulation
-
Traffic intensity vs. air quality/noise peaks
-
Vegetation features vs. heat island effects
-
Railway frequency vs. daily exposure levels
This helps determine which factors drive the greatest environmental burdens.
3. Measure Post‑Intervention Improvements
Once mitigation measures are implemented, the platform will quantify their effects by comparing:
-
Before/After environmental indicators
-
Short‑term vs. long‑term behavioural changes
-
Differences between urban / peri‑urban / rural responses
The platform produces automatically generated dashboards showing:
-
Reductions in pollutants and noise
-
Improvements in microclimate comfort
-
Observed biodiversity gains
-
Perception-based improvements (if survey data is collected by partners)
4. Generate Recommendations & Insights
The analytics engine will deliver:
-
Evidence-based ranking of which measures worked best
-
Site‑specific recommendations for further enhancement
-
Data-driven justification for scalability and replicability
-
Visual summaries that municipalities and planners can use in decision-making
We can satisfy the below requirements of the call:
- The use of the innovative solutions reduces the environmental, ecological, economic, social and health negative effects of existing, active railway lines and motorways[1] on demonstrator sites, contributing to their revitalisation.
