REGEN and PARTICIPATION-03 allergenic plants in green walls
Assisstant professor at Budapest University of Technology and Economics
Hungary
About
In cooperation with the National Center for Public Health and Pharmacy (NNGYK), this research project focuses on exploring the importance of allergenic plant knowledge in the design and implementation of green walls and vertical greenery systems.
The study initially targets architecture students, examining their awareness, attitudes, and design decisions related to plant selection and its impact on human health, particularly allergic conditions. The research highlights the need for integrating health-related and ecological considerations into architectural education and practice.
In the longer term, the project aims to develop a broader knowledge base applicable to professionals, decision-makers, and the general public. By promoting informed plant selection, the research supports the creation of climate-adaptive, health-supportive, and socially responsible green infrastructure in the built environment.
