Centexbel is the Belgian Textile and Plastics Competence Centre. Centexbel closely involves industry, industry intermediates and public authorities in its operation. To fulfil its mission, Centexbel offers an extensive range of activities and services to the textile industry, including (standardised) testing, certification, consultancy, Research & Development, trans-sectorial and international networking, with a focus on sustainable development, practice-oriented support, partnership and an open approach.
The R&D focus of Centexbel is on applied research. Strategic research topics include textiles recycling; circular textile materials use; biobased materials and composites; smart textiles and sustainable manufacturing.
We are looking to connect with companies, designers, architects, cities, universities, etc interested in building strong consortia including a research angle on textiles.
Specifically for NEB‑2026‑01‑REGEN‑01, Centexbel can bring advanced textile solutions to enhance thermal comfort in buildings, from material innovation to full testing and validation.
For NEB‑2026‑01‑REGEN‑03, Centexbel can develop high‑performance textile materials for vertical façades, shading and greening systems.
