ARCHITECT/ PHD CANDIDATE ARCHITECTURE at HOLARCH DESIGN STUDIO
Türkiye
About
I am a PhD candidate in Architecture based in Turkey, specializing in neuroarchitecture and cognitive responses to urban space. My doctoral research focuses on Skopje as a case study, examining how monumental architecture and large-scale urban interventions influence perception, emotion, collective memory, and spatial experience.
The study adopts an interdisciplinary experimental methodology, combining architectural theory with neuroscience and environmental psychology. The research framework includes:
-
EEG measurements to capture neural responses to architectural and urban stimuli
-
Eye-tracking to analyze visual attention, gaze patterns, and spatial focus
-
Psychological assessment tools (such as PANAS and POMS) to evaluate emotional states
-
Immersive spatial analysis through visual and environmental simulations of urban settings
The primary aim of the research is to quantify and interpret the neuro-cognitive and emotional impacts of urban monuments and architectural environments, and to translate these findings into design-oriented knowledge relevant to contemporary architectural practice, urban design, and the principles of the New European Bauhaus.
I am currently seeking international collaboration and institutional support for this research, particularly in the following areas:
-
Joint development of experimental design and protocols
-
Access to or cooperation with neuroscience laboratories, EEG or eye-tracking facilities
-
Data analysis and interpretation in interdisciplinary research settings
-
Academic exchange, co-authorship, or integration within EU-funded or NEB-aligned research frameworks
This collaboration is envisioned as a mutually beneficial knowledge exchange, contributing both to scientific research and to human-centered, evidence-based architectural design approaches in Europe.
